Anne Carson in Fragments

In 1998, Classicist Anne Carson published her first fictional novel “Autobiography of Red”, then published a follow-up in 2013, 15 years later, called “Red Doc>”. In both of these novels, Carson opts to explore more experimental forms, but why is that? This question becomes even more peculiar when considering how different the form of the two novels are from each other - it’s as though the novels are not connected at all. The answer lies within Carson’s own work as a translator of fragments.
